Sometimes we Christians are so afraid of loving the world that we are afraid to love the world.  We know we are commanded not to love the world nor the things in the world (1 John 2:15-17).  So we often withdraw from this world and are afraid to "enjoy" anything in it.  But God is the One who created this world for our enjoyment - and He made it very good (1 Timothy 4:1-5; 6:17).  And when it comes to the people in the world, God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son Jesus to come and die for us so we could live forever with Them in heaven.  It's only the world that Satan rules, the world driven by Satan's lies and lusts, that God tells us not to love. 

 So we can love this world that God created and enjoy it the way God designed it to be enjoyed.  And we can love the people of this world the way God loves them - and seek to share the greatest news of life forever with Him through faith in His Son Jesus.  It's just the twisted ways of thinking and living that this world lives by that we should not love - that's Satan's world.  And why would we want to love it anyway - when it makes such a mess out of everything. 

 So let's not be so afraid of loving Satan's messed up world that we miss out on loving God's world in God's way.  God loves His world - and we can too!!
